Day 03. Favourite David Bowie era?
Based on what? I have so many answers to this question.
As far as appearances go, I *love* the Thin White Duke. Sooooo sexy.
As far as music goes, I am in love with the Berlin era. Low is my favorite album; it’s like the sound of brainworkings and breath.
And then there’s Ouside era. Something about the late nineties just killed me. We were all looking to the millenium with wonder and awe (“a millenium fetish”), and I think the rise of electronica was a side effect of so many artists dreaming about the future and wondering how the “world-wide internet” was going to affect our daily lives. David Bowie’s dark dystopic view in Outside was perfection in art.
David Bowie - A New Career In A Town

Day 02. Favourite David Bowie album?
It’s Low. It’s been my favorite for like thirteen years.
All right, I want to do this; it sounds fun. C:
Day 01. Favourite David Bowie song?
A New Career in a New Town, from Low. I love his instrumental stuff so much. I could never articulate why this song meant so much to me until one of my exes described it as the sound of my personality. A little happy, a little sad, a little wistful, a little longing for something different.
lyrics: Fantastic Voyage, 1979
Lyrics: Loving the Alien, 1984

One of my best friends used to think he was saying “moved his hips,” which always made her think of him in these pants. I couldn’t find the picture I wanted, but any picture of David Bowie is good. ;)
Lyrics: Look Back in Anger, 1979
Ditto. ALL the traumatic experiences. Any time I need anything, I know which David Bowie song will be there for me. <3
